Esther and I attended NMSU. I graduated with a degree in accounting. We both worked for, and retired from the US Civil Service at White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), N.M. Esther retired as a Management Assistant; I retired as the WSMR Budget Officer. Job assignments took us to San Antonio, TX, and Havre de Grace, MD where we worked for the USA Test and Evaluation Command (TECOM). While at TECOM, I designed a computer system that accounted for the developmental test cost of Army equipment. Implementation of that system allowed me to travel to environmental test centers located all over the US. including Alaska, and Panama. Esther and I traveled throughout Mexico, and Central America. We toured the US. and Canada in our 65 Corvette in this photo. After 17 years of marriage, God gave us our first son, Larry, followed by a second son, Randy, 18 months later. I accepted a job as Accounting Officer and Resource Manager with the Corps of Engineers and moved the family to Honolulu, HI, where we lived in a penthouse overlooking Waikiki Beach. I got to travel to the Corps' branch offices in Japan and Korea, and while working at WSMR, to the Marshall Islands in the South Pacific Ocean.
We are now retired and live in Las Cruces. I authored a book, Speak Basic Spanish In No Time in 2004. God has given me the talent to play several instruments, and I also had the privilege of learning many songs as a musician in the First Apostolic Church that my father, Eutimio Rios, founded and pastored in Las Cruces. In my retired life, I spend most of my time playing and recording gospel music, and playing golf. I have recorded over 408 gospel songs, plus several Christmas Carols. These songs can be heard at this website, and at www.hop-nm.org . My goal is to reach the entire world, and to let millions share in the blessing of the songs that I have recorded for the honor and glory of God.
